How cervical pathology & prevention is tested

Written for DHA, SMLE, DOH, QCHP, OMSB, MOH, NHRA and Kuwait MOH — the same GP licensing mix, not a cervical pathology & prevention specialist paper.

Cervix items are who gets HPV vaccine, screening intervals, and which smear goes to colposcopy.

HPV vaccine schedules by age. Screening is cytology and/or HPV testing per the programme the stem names. ASC-US vs HSIL changes the next step.

CIN treatment is see-and-treat vs biopsy first depending on the grade. Pregnancy modifies how aggressive you are.

HSIL on smear — next step?

Colposcopy. Do not repeat the smear in a year as if it were ASC-US with negative HPV.

Who still needs screening after vaccine?

Vaccinated women still enter the screening programme. Vaccine is not a free pass.

Cervical cancer staging — GP depth?

Clinical staging idea and that parametrium/ spread changes treatment. Skip Wertheim step lists.
